What Is A Prototype?

what-is-a-prototypeSimply put, A prototype is an early sample, model, or release of a product built to test a concept or process or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.

Now days building a prototype has the same meaning of product development. To build a prototype, research has to be done to understand the users’ market, and the product itself. Once the research is done, few concepts will be generated then the chosen concept will be designed and developed using 3D software such as SolidWorks. A careful amount of time will be invested during the design process to make sure the design is solid from the first try.

Once the design is done, the next phase will be building the prototype. To build the prototype, a careful selection of the materials will be exercised, and all the components will be procured. Once the components are procured, the designer will build and assemble the product and then the product will be tested to make sure the product is meeting the required specifications.
